“Healing isn’t a straight path, it’s a winding trail — and you don’t have to walk it alone.”
Hi, I’m Chelyan McComas
A Licensed Professional Counselor who works with teens and young adults navigating the ups and downs of life. If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with perfectionism, dealing with a negative relationship with your food or body image, or just figuring out who you are, welcome. You're not broken, and you're definitely not alone. At Kind Heart Counseling, I bring curiosity, creativity, and a genuine relational connection into each session. You’ll often find me referencing quotes and poems in our sessions. I believe that words, like people, carry stories waiting to be understood. Therapy with me isn’t cold or clinical. It’s a safe space to pivot, pause, laugh, cry, and most importantly, be you.
P.S-. Lover of cats & coffee… and also clichés.
“The beauty of who you are is not where you are perfect. It is where you are brave.”
– Cleo Wade
My Mission
I believe healing happens when we feel seen, not fixed. My mission is to create a space where teens and young adults can show up as they are. With no masks, no pressure, just honesty and warmth. I’m here to walk alongside you as you unlearn negative beliefs, understand your worth, begin to trust yourself, and gently rewrite your story. At Kind Heart, we don’t rush the process. We meet it with curiosity, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

I believe therapy works best when it’s rooted in research and flexible enough to support you in your real life. My training has shaped how I show up for clients, with a focus on compassion, intention, and practical understanding. I especially love working with folks who are neurodivergent, dealing with more than one diagnosis, or are caught in the cycle of overthinking and overcontrol. I know what it’s like to live with a busy mind and the pressure to hold everything together.
I receive ongoing training in the following evidence-based modalities and treatment approaches, which I thoughtfully integrate into my work:
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Radically- Open DBT (RO-DBT)
Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
