“If being hard on yourself worked, it would have worked by now.”
Chelyan McComas, MS, LPC, NCC
Hi, I’m Chelyan McComas
Licensed Professional Counselor in Roswell, GA
If you were to peek at my credentials (they’re listed below) you’ll see trainings, memberships, and fancy acronyms. But what really matters is that I get it. I understand what it’s like to look like you’re doing fine while feeling anxious, stuck, or disconnected underneath. So many of the people I work with are caring, capable, and intelligent but exhausted from trying so hard to keep it all together.
I became a therapist because I know how much courage it takes to slow down, to challenge the “shoulds,” and to begin meeting yourself with kindness instead of criticism. I’ve witnessed how powerful it can be when someone finally feels seen and understands how to trust themselves again.
In sessions, you’ll find honesty, a little humor, and room to be yourself. We might talk through patterns that keep you feeling stuck, explore how anxiety shows up in your body, or use creative tools to help make sense of things that words alone can’t reach.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my fiancé and our cats, antique shopping, or taking on a new creative project.
I know therapy can feel intimidating at first, but if you’re here, that means you’re already doing something brave and you’re wanting some kind of change. Whether you’re a teen figuring out who you are or an adult learning to give yourself the grace you offer everyone else, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
“The beauty of who you are is not where you are perfect. It is where you are brave.”
– Cleo Wade
The Heart of My Work
Healing begins when we feel seen, not fixed.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are with no pressure to have it all together and not pretending things are fine.
In our work together, we’ll slow down and listen with curiosity. You’ll learn to untangle self-doubt, understand your worth, and gently begin trusting yourself again.
At Kind Heart Counseling, we move at your pace meeting the process with compassion, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

I believe therapy works best when it’s rooted in research and flexible enough to support you in your real life. My training has shaped how I show up for clients, with a focus on compassion, intention, and practical understanding. I especially love working with folks who are neurodivergent, dealing with more than one diagnosis, or are caught in the cycle of overthinking and overcontrol. I know what it’s like to live with a busy mind and the pressure to hold everything together.
I receive ongoing training in the following evidence-based modalities and treatment approaches, which I thoughtfully integrate into my work:
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Radically- Open DBT (RO-DBT)
Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
